TWIST Event
The Women’s Improvement Society of Tuolumne (TWIST) will hold its Annual Tea Party Preview Open House on Friday, November 20, 2009 from 7 – 9 p.m. at the Tuolumne Memorial Hall. Admission is $5.00. The Saturday Tea Party is sold out, so we hope you can make it to the Friday event for a chance to view the beautifully decorated tables, participate in drawings for prizes, and enjoy the refreshments.
Proceeds from this event benefit TWIST scholarship and community improvement projects. TWIST has donated $17,000.00 to local high school seniors during the past 4 years, and has assisted over 100 families with their clean-up projects. Additionally TWIST has donated a new stove to the Tuolumne Memorial Hall, which benefits all who use the hall, and we also donated $2000 towards Summerville High School’s new tennis courts. TWIST is a non-profit service organization dedicated to community improvement through volunteer service. Donations to TWIST are tax deductible and much appreciated.

The Great River Clean-Up
Interested in helping our community and the environment at the same time? Join the river clean up Saturday, September 19th from 9am - noon. There are various locations where you can focus your efforts by contacting Corinne Munger at Tuolumne County Resource Conservation District. Get Involved and Stop Complaining
With jobless rates at an all time high why not get involved with your community. See what there is to do here in Tuolumne, before you complain... there is NOTHING here. Several local organizations also are working to better the community so go to a meeting or call the contact information listed on the calendar. Still not finding what your looking for, contact someone. Get involved, we have an active and interested community. Nothing can change unless you start getting involved with what you like and want to see more of in Tuolumne. If no one is listening to you in town, Supervisor Terri Murrison is willing to listen and attempt to make changes as our District Supervisor, contact her at TeriMurrison.com or 533-5525. You can change things for the better.
